POSIT heads to CityScape/Dubai 2007

Well, Giuseppe and I are heading off to the Dubai International Exhibition Centre in a few hours to represent POSIT studio/dubai at CityScape...we have to get all dolled up, and we are essentially going for the day to talk to people and network...as they like to say in the US, networking is everything (in most fields.) Well, to put it bluntly...in Dubai, it is the only thing.

Who you know here and who knows you means the world here, and it can get you everywhere and anywhere you want to be. It seems apparent that Dubai lacks a certain deep history, perhaps like, say, Boston or Chicago, where buildings are old and money is older. Here, everything is new. Money, buildings, people, the city. So, as a new city with new people and new ventures at every turn, it is therefore highly advantageous to every single person to know as many other people as possible, to create lasting relationships, and use money wisely so that one day, there will be old money and established relationships and buildings that have become landmarks...

So, wish us luck in meeting many people and making a great first impression...we look good, we feel good, we got our handouts and business cards....and we're off!

I will write later when we get back to let you know of our great success...(or failure, but I just don't see how that is possible, with Giuseppe's cute face and my new hair cut!!! Ha ;D )
